Mama Major: Celebrating a Legacy of Black Trans Excellence

You are cordially invited to attend Mama Major: Celebrating a Legacy of Black Trans Excellence on December 6th, 2025, at Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco from 3pm to 5pm.

As many know, Mama Major loved music. In keeping with her wishes and radiant spirit, this gathering will be a joyful musical celebration rather than a memorial—since one has already taken place in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Bishop Yvette A. Flunder, of City of Refuge UCC, will be our keynote speaker, and she’ll be joined by several speakers from Mama Major’s family of comrades and beloveds. The Glide Ensemble and the City of Refuge Choir will be offering musical tributes and reflections.

Please wear red, black, and/or white for this celebration, as these are Miss Major’s three favorite colors.
